Medaille College senior guard Jonathan Belton has been tabbed as the AMCC Men's Basketball Player and Defensive Player of the Year.

The Medaille College men's basketball team earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference bid on Sunday afternoon when they defeated the number three seeded Redhawks of La Roche College, 74-58, in front of their home crowd.

Hollenbeck had a huge weekend for the Mavericks, helping Medaille capture their fifth conference title in program history and second in three seasons. Hollenbeck was a force for the Mavs, averaging 20 points and 12 rebounds on 53.3% shooting from the floor. He also blocked five shots and connected on 72.7% of his free throw attempts. For his efforts, Hollenbeck was named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team along with teammate Meghale Ford.

Greening averaged 24.5 points and 15.5 points in a 1-1 week for the Panthers. Against Penn State Altoona, he broke the AMCC record for total rebounds in a season held by former Panther Matt Beacom (328). Greening finished the regular season with 349 total rebounds and 20 double-doubles. He also shot 65 percent from the floor last week, while totaling 23 points and 17 rebounds in a 24-point win over Pitt-Greensburg.

Belton had a career week for the Mavericks, helping them go 2-0 on the road. His standout week started on Wednesday night when he dropped 32 points to get his 1,000th career point, becoming just the 10th player in program history to do so. The guard also added 11 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block in the victory. He followed that up on Saturday with 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in a victory over Mount Aloysius. Belton finished the week shooting 68% from the floor, averaging 26.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, five assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Fagan was one of the biggest reasons the Mavericks finished the week with two huge wins over Penn State Behrend and La Roche College to take over sole possession of first place in the AMCC standings. Fagan started the week by dropping 22 against the Lions on Wednesday and finished things off with another 20 points against the Redhawks on Saturday. It was the fourth and fifth time Fagan had at least 20 points in a game, and first time in his career he had back-to-back 20 point efforts by shooting 62.5% from the field and 90% from the free throw line.

Belton had quite an impressive week for the Mavericks, averaging 25.5 points, three assists, four rebounds, and six steals per game last week. He was almost unstoppable against Hilbert, dropping 34 points against the Hawks, including a 32 point second half. He followed that up by scoring 17 against Penn State-Altoona offensively, and stealing a career high nine on defense. Belton now has 54 steals on the season, that total ranks him second in the nation. His three steals a game rank sixth in the country in steals per game.

Niland averaged 20 points last week to help his team pick up two Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) victories. The Lions handed La Roche their first conference loss on Wednesday, defeating the Redhawks 86-84. Niland scored a season-high 24 points in the win after shooting 46.7 percent from the floor and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. He then added 16 more on Saturday in a 40-point win over Franciscan. Niland shot 66.7 percent and drained two three's.

Wilson helped to lead the Lions to an impressive 3-0 week of AMCC play. In a big win at Mount Aloysius on Wednesday night, he had 12 points, four assists, and four steals. In Saturday's exciting overtime win over Penn State Behrend (which was the Lions' first win over Behrend since January 10, 2009), Wilson made the game-winning, buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of overtime and finished the game with 19 points, three rebounds, and two assists. In Sunday's victory against D'Youville, he had 24 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. For the week, Wilson averaged 18.3 points per game, 4.3 assists per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, and 2.3 steals per game.

Belton had a huge week for the Mavs, leading them to a 2-0 week with wins over previously undefeated Penn State Behrend and Mount Aloysius. Belton averaged 24.5 points per game, shooting 61.9% from the field and was a perfect 14-14 on free throw attempts. He scored 25 points in a tight six point win over the Lions and then added 24 points in the victory over Mount Aloysius, doing so in only 22 minutes of action. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. Belton is currently second in the AMCC averaging 20.5points per game in AMCC contests.

Greening averaged another double-double with 21.5 points and 14.5 rebounds for the Panthers. Greening poured in 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and chipped in two assists against Juniata and followed that up with 20 points and 18 rebounds against Houghton.

Smith led the Hawks this week to a 2-0 record by averaging 25 points per game. Smith was able to help the Hawks by producing most of his points from three point arc and foul line, as he shot 44.4 percent from the arc and 84.2 from the foul line. He also added three rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Smith leads the Hawks, and is second in the AMCC, in scoring at 19 points per game to end the first semester.

Medaille College (5-3, 3-0 AMCC) and La Roche College (6-3, 3-0 AMCC) both enter the AMCC men's basketball Game of the Week with perfect 3-0 conference records and are in a three-way tie with Penn State Behrend for first place.

Hollenbeck scored a career high 28 points and had 12 rebounds in Medaille's 83-79 win over Hilbert on Wednesday. He followed that up with a solid 13 points and 6.0 rebounds in the Mavs 77-67 win over Penn State Altoona to help keep the Mavericks undefeated (3-0) in the AMCC. For the week, Hollenbeck averaged just shy of a double-double with 20.5 points and 9.0 rebounds, while also averaging 2.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per game.

Wilson had a big week to help the Lions open AMCC play with a 2-0 record, including wins over Hilbert and Pitt-Greensburg. The senior scored 34 points (the 9th-most in a game in team history) to go along with seven assists, seven steals, and six rebounds to help his team defeat the defending AMCC champion Pitt-Greensburg squad on Wednesday night. On Saturday afternoon, he added nine points (including the game-winning free throw), eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a win over defending AMCC regular season champion Hilbert. On the week, Wilson averaged 21.5 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game, 5.0 assists per game, and 4.5 steals per game.
