    Martineau posted his first career triple-double. Martineau paced the Hawks with 20 points, eleven rebounds, and ten assists, now leading the AMCC in assist with 6.8 per game.

    The second place Penn State Behrend (7-2) men's basketball team will travel to Cresson, Pa. to take on third place Mount Aloysius College (6-3) in the AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

    As the temperatures in January continue to drop throughout the landscape of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be joining forces over the next two weeks to help keep the less fortunate warm this winter.

    Archie-Davis had a huge week for the Lions, helping his team go 2-0 in AMCC play. In Wednesday night's win over Pitt-Greensburg, he scored a career-high 23 points, dished out a season-high nine assists, and added five rebounds, two steals, and a block. Archie-Davis scored the game-winning basket with one second left on the clock in Saturday's victory over Hilbert, finishing the game with 19 points, six assists, six rebounds, and a steal. On the week, he averaged 21.0 points per game while shooting 51.9% from the field, and he also averaged 7.5 assists per game (including a 5.0 assist-to-turnover ratio), 5.5 rebounds per game, and 1.5 steals per game.

    Penn State Altoona freshman guard Jack Kusters was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference’s Division III South Region Rookie of the Month on Thursday for his performance during the month of December.

    Gardner-Nicholson had two excellent performances in a 1-1 week for the Lions, including an historic game on Thursday. In Thursday night's home loss to AMCC opponent Franciscan, he set two new Penn State Altoona men's basketball program single-game records by grabbing 22 rebounds and blocking eight shots. Gardner-Nicholson also scored 18 points in that game for his fifth double-double of the season, as he also added two assists. In Saturday's win at conference foe D'Youville, he finished with 11 points, six rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and one assist. On the week, the junior averaged 14.5 points per game, 14.0 rebounds per game, 5.5 blocks per game, 1.5 assists per game, and 1.0 steal per game.  
  • D'YOUVILLE'S VAN DULUITGAARDEN JOINS 1,000 POINT CLUB

    D'Youville College senior Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden became just the fifth player in D'Youville men's basketball program history to join the 1,000-point club.

    The AMCC men's basketball game of the week features two of the top teams in the conference to date this season. Mount Aloysius College (4-1) travels to La Roche College (5-0), as the two teams have just one conference loss between them. 
  • Andy Niland, Penn State Behrend, Men's Basketball

    Niland was named the Defiance Tournament MVP for helping the Lions capture the tournament title. He scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while dishing out 12 assists over two games. Niland had double-digit points in all three games over break and shot 80 percent from the free throw line. He drained nine three pointers and averaged 35 minutes a game.  
  • Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden, D'Youville College, Men's Basketball

    VanDuluitgaarden became the fifth player in program history to score 1,000 points for the D'Youville men's basketball team. VanDuluitgaarden began the week by scoring 13 points with 10 rebounds and three assists against the ninth ranked team in the country, the Whitworth Pirates. Then on Wednesday, the senior scored a team high 21 points against Lewis & Clark to go with nine rebounds and two assists while scoring his 1,000th point in the first half. He averaged 17 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last week. VanDuluitgaarden currently leads the team and conference in scoring with 17.6 points per game and is fifth in the AMCC in rebounding with 7.9 rebounds per game.
  • Tyler Frederick, La Roche College, Men's Basketball

    Frederick averaged 18 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3 assists in a 3-0 week for La Roche. The sophomore forward had 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in La Roche's 78-60 victory over non-conference opponent Carnegie Mellon. He then registered a double-double with 23 points (10 of 11 FG), 10 rebounds and 4 assists as the Redhawks earned an 85-80 victory at Pitt-Greensburg. Frederick ended his week with 20 points and 8 rebounds in the AMCC Game of the Week, an 82-70 win on the road vs. D'Youville in a battle of unbeatens.

    La Roche College (3-0) travels to Buffalo, NY this Saturday to take on D'Youville College (2-0) in the AMCC men's basketball game of the week. The Redhawks and Spartans are two of three teams in the AMCC that remain unbeaten on the young season.

    Sue Cervi, the Director of Volunteers from the Buffalo City Mission, was presented with financial donations and non-perishable food prior to the Hilbert College men’s basketball game December 3.
  • Jeremy VanDuluitgaarden, D'Youville College, Men's Basketball

    VanDuluitgaarden turned in another strong week for the Spartans, leading the team to a pair of victories to open up the conference schedule. Beginning on Wednesday in the team's 97-88 win over Hilbert, VanDuluitgaarden scored a career high 32 points with nine rebounds and five assists - all team highs. He played all 40 minutes in the game, shooting 65% from the field. Then on Saturday in the 72-69 come from behind victory over Franciscan, he scored 14 points with eight rebounds - both team highs. The senior currently leads the the AMCC in scoring with 19.8 PPG and is fourth in the conference with 8.4 RPG. He has scored at least four points in every game this season.

    Philips led the Hawks to a 1-1 week by averaging 24.5 points, five rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Phillips was consistent from the field shooting 51.4 percent, as well as shooting 53.8 percent from the arc. The junior guard had a season high 30 points in the loss to Keuka College.

    Members of the D'Youville College men and women's basketball teams recently took time away from the court to help out local families in need of a Thanksgiving dinner this past week.
  • Julian Stover, Mount Aloysius College, Men's Basketball

    Stover averaged 21 points per game in a week when the Mounties played four games, including taking on three tough teams from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and a Division 1 opponent, Robert Morris University. Stover did his damage all over the court as he shot 43.8% from the field, 85% from the line and 42.1% from beyond the arc. He also chipped in 13 rebounds and 14 assists from his guard position. Stover poured in 26 points against Robert Morris, as he shot 50% from long range and 94.7% from the free throw line.
  • Matt Trent, Franciscan University, Men's Basketball

    Trent led the Barons to their first season-opening win in the DIII era of Franciscan basketball. The junior posted a career best 25 points before a .667 shooting day from the floor. Trent went 10-for-15 from field goal range and pulled down a game-best 15 rebounds, including 12 defensive boards. Trent also added a block and a steal.

    Penn State Behrend athletics has announced that men's basketball assistant coach Chris Klimchock has been elevated to full-time status.  Klimchock will be entering his third year on the Behrend bench in 2018-19.

    For the sixth consecutive year, members of the Hilbert College men's basketball team joined faculty and staff from the college's Criminal Justice/Forensic Science Association for the program's annual Adopt-a-Highway cleanup initiative on September 8.

    Penn State Altoona men’s basketball landed its most important recruit for the 2018-19 season on Tuesday, September 4, when 11-year-old Teagan Imler signed his letter of intent during a ceremony in the Adler Athletic Complex to officially become a member of the program.

    Former Penn State Behrend men's basketball standout and NBA Atlanta Hawks assistant coach Pat St. Andrews has been named an assistant coach with the NBA Milwaukee Bucks for the 2018-19 season.
