Penn State Altoona (6-10, 5-5 AMCC) travels to nearby conference opponent Mount Aloysius College (9-8, 6-4 AMCC) for the AMCC Men's Basketball Game of the Week game on Wednesday night. Mount Aloysius currently sits in fourth place in league standings, while Altoona is tied for fifth. Both teams are battling it out to stay in playoff contention and to climb in conference rankings as February draws near. 

The Lions have been heating up in January and ride a four-game winning streak into Cresson. Senior guard Jalen Archie-Davis has been on fire during that win streak, averaging 19.3 points per game in his last four games, and he ranks 17th in the AMCC in points per game (12.1) this season. Junior center Cameron Gardner-Nicholson has anchored the paint for the Lions, leading the AMCC in blocks per game (3.4), ranking second in rebounds per game (10.3), and recording seven double-doubles this season. Freshman guard Jack Kusters has been an effective shooter for the Lions, ranking 16th in the conference in scoring (12.5 points per game) while making the 10th-most three-pointers (30) of any player in the league this season.

The Mounties are currently in 4th place in the AMCC despite falling in four of their last six conference games. As a team, the Mounties hold opponents to a 40.6% field goal percentage which tops the AMCC. In conference play, they have allowed 62.8 points per game which is the 2nd lowest average in the league. Individually, the Mounties have been led on offense by Junior guard Julian Stover and freshman forward Carlos Palacio. Stover is averaging 13.8 points per game this season, while Palacio Averages 12.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
