In an intensely fought AMCC championship meet, Melchiorre paved the way for Cabrini. The freshman took first in six events. As a member of the relay squad, Melchiorre combined with her teammates to take first in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay. As an individual, Melchiorre took first in the 50 free (25.3), 200 free (2:01), and 100 free (54.97). Melchiorre’s wins earned her a shared spot as high point scorer for the meet and helped the Cavaliers dominate to finish with 243 points and the conference crown.

In a meet against Chatham and conference rival Penn State Altoona, Guiliani took home wins in the 200 free (2:03) and 100 free (57.13). The junior also finished 2nd in the 50 free (26.42).
Penn St. Behrend freshman Mia Pietropola broke the pool record in the 200 IM, while winning two individual events against Pitt-Bradford on Saturday.
Pietropola broke the pool record at Pitt-Bradford in the 200 IM with a time of 2:17 to take the win. In addition, the freshman won the 100 breast (1:10) to lead the Lions to their first dual-meet win in 2014.
Melchiorre was part of Cabrini’s relay team that won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:45, shattering the school record by 1.37 seconds. Individually, the freshman nearly broke the program’s six-year-old record in the 500 free, reaching the wall in 5:33.23, just 0.2 seconds off the mark. The rookie also placed 3rd in the 200 free (2:04).
Guiliani had five first place finishes this weekend in a double dual meet vs. Pitt-Bradford and Frostburg State, including the 200 freestyle (2:07.68). She dominated the field in the 200 freestyle again against Bethany (2:07.08) while also posting wins in the 100 and 200 free and the 400 freestyle relay.
Nero tallied two individual first places against AMCC rival Penn State Behrend on December 14. She won the 50 freestyle in 26.56, and she later placed atop the standings in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.25.
The men's and women's swimming and diving team collected donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank on Tuesday, November 26 at their home meet against Gannon, beginning at 5 p.m.
