Christina Melchiorre, Cabrini College
In an intensely fought AMCC championship meet, Melchiorre paved the way for Cabrini. The freshman took first in six events. As a member of the relay squad, Melchiorre combined with her teammates to take first in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay. As an individual, Melchiorre took first in the 50 free (25.3), 200 free (2:01), and 100 free (54.97). Melchiorre’s wins earned her a shared spot as high point scorer for the meet and helped the Cavaliers dominate to finish with 243 points and the conference crown.

As a member of the relay squad, Melchiorre combined with her teammates to take first in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay. She was also part of the 400 medley relay squad that took 3rd. As an individual, Melchiorre took first in the 50 free (25.3), 200 free (2:01), and 100 free (54.97). BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend FR Mia Pietropola was a three-time individual champion (100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM) and joined a three way tie for high-point earner at the AMCC championship meet … PS-Altoona FR Ashley Nero took 2nd in the 100 breast (1:12) and 200 breast (2:42) to finish out her strong freshman campaign at the AMCC championship meet.
