The AMCC men's basketball tournament will tip off Wednesday evening when #6 Medaille College travels to #3 Pitt-Greensburg and #5 Pitt-Bradford goes to #4 La Roche College. #1 Hilbert College and #2 Penn St. Behrend will each receive first round byes.

Greening had another outstanding week, leading the Panthers to victories over Medaille and Mt. Aloysius in the final week of the regular season. Greening led the Pitt-Bradford offense with 31 points and 19 rebounds in an 85-78 victory over Medaille and then capped off the week with another double-double, posting 28 points and 17 boards in the victory over the Mounties. He continues to lead the AMCC in both scoring and rebounding with 20.4 ppg and 11.9 rebounds per game. The Panthers have now won four straight games.

Matheson led the Panthers to a crucial 2-0 week with victories over D'Youville and LaRoche. The Panthers defeated the Spartans 85-75 in the AMCC Game of the Week that featured the two teams battling for the last playoff spot. In the game of the week the senior guard notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. He was also key in the victory over LaRoche, scoring 27 points and adding five assists. Matheson also knocked down 10 of his 12 free throws on the week. He averaged 23.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and played all but 78 of 80 possible minutes. Matheson is tied for first in scoring in the AMCC with 19.7 points per game.

Wilson had a big week for the Lions, as his team went 2-0 in AMCC play. In a win over Mount Aloysius on Wednesday night, he scored 30 points to go along with eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. In Saturday's victory over Pitt-Bradford, he put up 22 points with five rebounds, five steals, and two assists. On the week, Wilson averaged 26.0 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 4.0 steals per game, and 3.0 assists per game.

Greening averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds per game for the Panthers. His two double-doubles helped the Panthers to a 1-1 week. Greening led the UPB offense with 30 points and 18 rebounds in a victory over Pitt-Greensburg in the AMCC Game of the Week. Greening currently leads the AMCC in both points (19.6) and rebounds (11.3) per game.

Hackett led the Lions to their 11th consecutive win last week. He averaged 16.0 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Hackett scored a game-high 17 points and brought down 12 rebounds in their 11-point win over Hilbert to take sole possession of first place in the conference. He then broke the 1,000 career point mark in Behrend's next win over D'Youville. Hackett leads the AMCC in in rebounds per game (11.4), field goal percentage (60.4%) and is fourth in the nation with 12 double-doubles.

Owens led the first place hawks to another two wins this week. He led his team with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 5.5 steals per game. With the 11 steals this week, Owens is now only seven steals away from another school record. Owens currently ranks second in the AMCC with a 60.9 field goal percentage and is third with 9.8 rebounds per game.

Matheson averaged 26.3 points per game and nearly eight assists per game in a critical 2-1 week for Pitt-Bradford. Matheson led the Panthers with 34 points in a back-and-forth game with first place Hilbert on Jan. 6. He then posted a double-double in a win over Mount Aloysius (19 points/11 assists). He also added five blocks, three steals and 11 boards on the defensive end of the floor to help the Panthers get back on track with two crucial conference victories.

Hollenbeck had a solid game against Utica as he scored 11 points on 5-6 shooting, while adding five rebounds and one block. He followed that up with a 17 point, six rebound, and two block performance against Cortland State. For the week, Hollenbeck averaged 14.0 points per game, shooting 72.2 % from the field, and 5.5 rebounds.

UPG's super sixth man Connelly was an offensive force in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats. The senior guard averaged 26 points per game on 54.5% shooting (18-33) including 50% (9-18) from three point range. He dropped 23 on #11 ranked Christopher Newport followed by a season-high 29 point performance in a 97-88 victory over Waynesburg.

Contristano was instrumental in a pair of conference wins for Pitt-Greensburg this past week. With 19 points vs. Penn St. Altoona and 24 against Pitt-Bradford, the senior posted a 21.5 point per game average on an astounding 69.6% (16-23) shooting from the floor and 66.7% from three-point range. His school record of 32 straight successful foul shots streak came to a close on Saturday, but Contristano still converted 90% (9-10) on the week. He also added a 6.5 rebound/game and 2 assists per game average.

Smith continued his exceptional play for the 0-3 Lions last week, posting a double-double in all 3 contests which were decided by 3 points or less. Against Wilson, he tied her career-high in points with 24 while grabbing 10 rebounds. Versus La Roche, Smith scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds, and at Medaille, he scored 14 and finished with 10 boards. On the week, Jordan averaged 19.3 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game, and 1.0 steal per game.

Hackett led the Lions to two non-conference wins this past week averaging 17.0 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game. Hackett averaged 61.9% shooting from the floor and was 8-for-9 from the free throw line. He tallied six offensive and eight defensive boards to record a career-high 14 rebounds against Fredonia on Tuesday. Hackett also dished out three assists and added three blocks.
