Mount Aloysius senior guard Dillon Bender joined the 1,000 point club in Saturday’s home game against Penn State Behrend. Needing 14 points to hit 1,000 for his career in a Mountie uniform, Bender hit the mark on a three-point shot with 41 seconds remaining in the game as he finished with 15 points on the afternoon.
Bender currently leads the conference with 56 three-point shots made, and ranks second as he shoots 44.8 percent from behind the arc. Bender’s stroke carries over to the free throw line, where he stands at fifth in the conference with an 82.8 free-throw percentage. Bender also ranks second on the team with 15 steals on the defensive end.
Bender becomes the 12th player in Mountie basketball history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
