  • THREE SCHOOLS EARN CSCAA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA HONORS

    The Alfred State College and Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming and diving teams, along with the Penn State Behrend women's team have been named Division III Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), on Tuesday.

    Miller was named the AMCC Diver of the year after winning the 1m and 3m competitions. He qualified for the NCAA Regionals with his performances. He won the 3m with a score of 484.45 and the 1m with a mark of 440.80.

  • AMCC MEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS KICK OFF ON WEDNESDAY

    The AMCC men's swimming and diving teams will take to the starting blocks this week for the 2019 AMCC championship meet. Hosted by Penn State Behrend at the Junker Center, the diving events will lead off Wednesday evening, with the swimming events to follow Thursday, February 14 through Saturday, February 16.

    Patterson won a total of six events this weekend. He tallied three against Malone and three vs. St. Vincent to help the Lions extend their win streak to six straight. Patterson won two relay and the 100 backstroke vs. Malone. He then captured the 100 backstroke (54.35) and 200 backstroke (1:57.73) vs. the Bearcats.

    Three AMCC swimming and diving teams earned All-Academic honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their performace in the classroom this past fall.

    Miller won both the 1m (351.40) and the 3m (392.05) at the Pioneer Invitational and then was 3rd in the 3m (411.30) and 6th in the 1m (354.30) at the Ithaca Diving Invitational.

    Olin led the way by winning three individual events as Alfred State won the Pioneer Invitational on Saturday. He won the 100 back in 58.65, the 50 free in 23.23, and the 200 back in 2:14.33. He was also part of the 2nd place 200 medley relay team (1:47.56) and the 2nd place 200 free relay team (1:35.30).

    Yaw had a great week to help lead the Lions to a pair of dual meet wins last week, finishing with five individual first places. In Tuesday afternoon's victory at Wells, he grabbed first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:37.59, and he won the 100 Yard Breaststroke by finishing in 1:11.74. In Friday night's win at Gallaudet, Yaw took first place in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:09.91, prevailed in the 100 Yard Freestyle by clocking in at 55.79, and won the 100 Yard Butterfly by posting a time of 57.21.

    As the temperatures in January continue to drop throughout the landscape of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be joining forces over the next two weeks to help keep the less fortunate warm this winter.

    Troll earned a pair of individual wins in the tri-meet at Buffalo State, earning the second victory of the day for Pitt-Bradford, finishing the men's 100-breaststroke in 1:07.23, edging out a competitive opponent that finished just 0.17 seconds behind. Troll's second victory of the day came in the men's 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:29.90, the fastest he's swam the event all season.

    December 10, 2018
    Bietz set four records, hit two NCAA "B" cut times and won six events to help the Lions capture the 2018 Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational. He won three individual events, hitting an NCAA qualifying time in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Bietz also set a new AMCC and school record in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.23), and school records in the 100 breaststroke (56.10) and 200 IM (1:53.87). He also swam on three winning relays.
  • Andrew Lesnett, Penn State Altoona, Men's Swimming
    December 03, 2018
    Lesnett won every event in which he competed during Saturday's SUNY Delhi Fall Invitational, helping the Lions to finish in first place with 344 points. Lesnett had individual wins in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:52.72 and the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 51.29. He also helped his team win both of its relay events, as he and his teammates combined for a time of 1:49.37 to place first in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and a time of 1:37.49 to win the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

    Olin picked up three individual victories and one relay first place finish in the team's victory over Penn State Altoona on Saturday. Olin won the 50 back (29.09), the 100 fly (1:00.05), and the 100 back (59.93). He was also part of the 1st place 400 free relay team.

    Miller won the 3m competition with a score of 265.35 which broke the previous record of current diving coach Nick Beach. Miller also finished 2nd in the 1m with a mark of 203.30.
  • Robert Armistead, SUNY Delhi, Men's Swimming
    November 12, 2018
    Armistead won two solo events, while capturing a relay victory. Armistead took first in the 200-yard IM, then followed that up with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke. Armistead then teamed with James Brunt, Damon Keefer and John Cosmus to claim first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
  • Ethan Dale, Alfred State, Men's Swimming

    Dale continued his solid start to the season by winning the 100 breast (1:05.14), the 200 breast (2:27.64) and the 200 IM (2:10.35). He was also part of the 200 medley relay team that finished 2nd in 1:45.10.
  • Caleb Hansen, Pitt-Bradford, Men's Swimming
    October 29, 2018
    Hansen pulled off the impressive feat of winning three individual events in his first collegiate meet Saturday, leading the team to a win at Penn State-Altoona. Hansen won the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:53.82, then won the 100-freestyle with a time of 52.29, over six seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. The third win of the day for Hansen came in the 500-freestyle, finishing with a time of 5:28.34 and nearly 13 seconds ahead of his competition.

    Miller won both the 1m and 3m diving competition. He scored 218.80 on the 1m and 229.65 on the 3m.
