FRANCISCAN OUTLASTS ALFRED STATE TO CLAIM AMCC SHOWCASE VICTORY

Alfred State College and Franciscan University battled back and forth all afternoon in the AMCC Showcase final. The Barons scored four of the last five goals of the game, including the game-winner with 3:14 remaining, to earn the 15-14 victory.

Jonas McCaig led the Barons with five goals and two assists while Mike Rosaschi had three goals and three assists. TM Thomas chipped in two goals and three assists, Dan McCartney had a hat trick, and Jerome Harkins picked up 14 ground balls. Grant McKeown made 12 saves in net to earn the victory.

Joe Johnson led the blue & gold with seven goals and one assist while Teddy Alvarado had three goals and two assists.

Franciscan held a 50 to 40 shot advantage in the contest and won 22 faceoffs. The Pioneers were 2 for 7 with the extra man while the Barons were 7 for 17.
