DAN PATRONE NAMED MEDAILLE MEN'S LACROSSE HEAD COACH
Medaille College Athletics Director Amy DeKay announced the appointment of Dan Patrone as the school's new Head Men's Lacrosse Coach and Equipment Manager.
Medaille College Athletics Director Amy DeKay announced the appointment of Dan Patrone as the school's new Head Men's Lacrosse Coach and Equipment Manager.
Patrone comes to Medaille from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he served as an Assistant Coach for the Men's Lacrosse team for three years, and also served as the Athletic Business Office Manager since November 2016.
As an Assistant Coach at Aquinas, Coach Patrone served primarily as the Defensive Coordinator, developing and implementing a new team defensive, transition, and offensive system that encouraged upbeat, creative, and fast paced play. During his time at Aquinas the Saints increased their scoring output to a program high 15.47 goals per game, decreased their goals against to 10.20 per game, and ranked in the top three nationally in caused turnovers; caused turnovers per game; total shots; total points; total assists; and total saves.
Prior to his three years in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Patrone paced the sidelines as an Assistant Coach at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana; Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio; and Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio where he served as Defensive Coordinator at all three stops and had a hand in all aspects of the Men's Lacrosse programs.
The Mavericks finished with a 1-14 record overall in 2017 and will be looking to get a fresh start under Coach Patrone's tutelage.
