The 2016-17 academic year marks the first year for men's lacrosse in the AMCC, and Hilbert College has claimed the first conference title.
With a 33-4 victory over Medaille College, the Hawks have completed a perfect 4-0 record in AMCC play to take home the first AMCC men's lacrosse regular season championship. Other conference victories include Alfred State, Franciscan University, and La Roche College.
The 2017 AMCC season will conclude on the weekend of May 5-7 with a showcase tournament. Both Medaille and Hilbert hold affiliate memberships in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and will have the opportunity to qualify for that tournament and an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Hawks are currently sitting in fourth place in the NEAC, while Medaille is in ninth place. The top four teams will make the NEAC tournament. Remaining AMCC members will compete for the showcase title at the site of the highest participating seed in the regular season standings.
Following Hilbert in the conference ranking are Alfred State (3-1), Franciscan (2-2), Medaille (1-3) and La Roche (0-4).
