AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR OCTOBER 10-16, 2022
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's soccer, cross country, swimming & diving, and women's volleyball for the period running from October 10-16, 2022.

Men's Soccer (Offensive): Pitt-Greensburg F Caleb Yuricha had four goals and two assists in two games last week, including a hat trick against La Roche, to lead the Bobcats to an undefeated start in the AMCC. Yuricha had a total of 16 shots over the past week witn nine of those being shots on goal.
Men's Soccer (Defensive): PS-Behrend GK Sam York earned three wins on the week including two conference victories, making six total saves and not allowing one goal in 225 minutes of action for a pair of shutouts. The senior has not surrendered a goal since Oct. 1 and has a 0.44 goals-against average.
Women's Soccer (Offensive): Pitt-Greensburg F Ashley Lucas led the Bobcats to a 2-0 record in conference play last week as she scored four goals and became the programs leader in goals scored in a career, a record that has stood for over 15 years. Lucas now has 50 goals in her career.
Women's Soccer (Defensive): PS-Behrend GK Morgan Harding picked up a pair of AMCC wins this week, making three saves and getting the shutout against Altoona on Saturday. A combined three shots on goal were given up in the two games.
Women's Volleyball (Offensive): Alfred State OH Karleigh Haines led the Pioneers in kills, averaging 4.17 kills per set in the two biggest matches of conference season, as Alfred State swept both Penn State Behrend and Penn State Altoona 3-0. Haines also added 12 digs (2.0 digs per set), four service aces, three assists, and two blocks on the week, while hitting at a .229 clip and averaging 5.1 points per set on the week.
Women's Volleyball (Defensive): PS-Behrend OH Sara Nobach recorded 55 digs in two matches for the Lions last week. She set a new season-high vs. Alfred State with 24 digs and then reset her high with 31 digs against Penn State Altoona. For the week, she averaged 6.88 digs per set.
Men's Cross Country: Alfred State SR Gavin Bathgate completed the Canisius Invitational 8K in 26:17.4, placing 34th out of 170 runners.
Women's Cross Country: PS-Behrend SO Olivia Nola led the Lions to an 18th place finish out of 32 teams at the Inter-Regional Rumble at Oberlin on Saturday. The sophomore led the pack with a time of 23:20.1 for the 6K to earn 35th individually out of 282 runners.
Men's Swimming: PS-Altoona FR Adam Marawan had three individual first place finishes and was part of a relay first place, as the Lions defeated W&J 194-52 in their season opener. The freshman triumphed in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:50.38, then won the 100 Yard Freestyle in 50.34. Adam clinched his third win of the day in the 200 Yard IM, in which he clocked in at 2:10.54. He was also part of the first place 200 Yard Medley Relay team that finished in 1:43.57.
Women's Swimming: PS-Altoona SR Avery Heisey had three individual first place finishes and was also part of a relay first place for the Lions during their 168-69 win at W&J on Saturday. The senior prevailed in the 50 Yard Freestyle, recording a time of 26.75, then won the 100 Yard Freestyle in 59.40. Avery pulled off the trifecta with a first place finish in the 50 Yard Butterfly, hitting the pad at 29.64. She was also part of the first place 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that totaled a time of 1:47.46.
