ASC'S KUMPF NAMED RUNNER OF THE YEAR AS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS RELEASED
Alfred State College freshman Hailey Kumpf has been tabbed as the AMCC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year.
Alfred State College freshman Hailey Kumpf has been tabbed as the AMCC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year. Kumpf finished in first place at the AMCC championship meet, crossing the finsih line in 25:07.4. She also recorded the top women's time in the AMCC during the regular season, a 24:22.0 finish at the Mike Woods Invitational on October 19, while also picking up AMCC Runner of the Week honors for that performance.
Penn State Behrend freshman Bailee Dernar earns Newcomer of the Year honors after placing fourth at the AMCC championship meet. Dernar completed the championship course in 26:50.8. She was also strong during the regular season, recording the fourth-best time time all season among women in the AMCC, a 25:09.3 finish at the Gettysburg Invitational on October 19.
Behrend head coach Greg Cooper has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year for the 11th time is his career. Cooper led the Lions to their 14th AMCC cross country title last weekend.
