BEHREND'S SAVANNA CARR COMPLETES HER COMEBACK TO WIN AMCC TITLE
The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team captured their fourth consecutive AMCC Championship title on Saturday afternoon, held on the campus of Mount Aloysius College. Lion senior Savanna Carr was the AMCC individual champion for the third time in her career.
The Lions had seven runners in the Top 10 to capture the team's 12th overall championship with 17 team points. Carr won the race in 24:06.4 to edge out teammate Olivia Nola. Nola was runner up with a time of 24:35.1, while Behrend's Lindsey Hartle placed third (26:04.3).
Hilbert College sophomore Maddie Fusco finished in fourth place with a time of 26:15.5, while Pitt-Greensburg senior Sidney McCully was fifth after finishing in 26:30.4.
Behrend freshman Emily Micciche clocked in with a time of 26:32.2 for sixth place, followed by teammate Bethany Litwiler in seventh (27:02.7). Coming in eighth place was Behrend's Ivy Laffan, running in 27:36.1. Alfred State College senior Sarah Rivet placed ninth with a time of 27:37.9 and Behrend's Megan Swantner rounded out the top 10, crossing the finish line in 28:33.3
As a team, Alfred State took second place (61) and Hilbert was in third (62), while La Roche was fourth (109).
