BEHREND TAKES THIRD, FRANCISCAN EIGHTH AT WESTMINSTER INVITATIONAL
The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team took third at the Fisher Invitational hosted by Westminster on Friday night, while Franciscan University finished in eighth place.
The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team took third at the Fisher Invitational hosted by Westminster on Friday night, while Franciscan University finished in eighth place.
The Lions earned a final score of 92 points, finishing behind Waynesburg (49) and Mercyhurst (70). Freshman Savanna Carr led the charge for the women's team by placing third in the race with a time of 23:38.17.
Junior Jenna Shelton notched 13th with a final time of 24:26.17. Sophomore Riley Crissman crossed the finish line at 24:29.38 and junior Courtney Sargentnot too far after at 25:22.55 started the first run of the year off solid by concluding the race third and fourth for the Lions, respectively.
Baron junior Bernadette Williams was the top FUS finisher as she crossed the line 12th with a time of 24:20.98. She was followed by newcomer Catherine Long who took 25th place overall with a time of 25:08.10. Junior Carolyn Poston and sophomore Kara Shaughnessy took 56th and 57th overall with times of 27:29.61 and 28:02.34, respectively.
