BEHREND WOMEN KICK OFF CROSS COUNTRY SEASON WITH A WIN, RAMSEY IS TOP FINISHER

The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team took first at the Fisher Invitational hosted by Westminster on Friday night.
The Lions, who came in first with 54 points, were led by Rachel Ramsey who won the race with a time of 24:13.86. Westminster came in behind Behrend with 54 points. Geneva came in third (61) and Franciscan and Washington & Jefferson rounded off the top five, scoring 98 and 110, respectively.
Behrend's Riley Crissman and Caitlin Plazony had great first collegiate races, finishing sixth and seventh overall with a times of 24:41.56 and 24:43.75, respectively. Freshman Erica Koenig finished the day with a time of 25:56.77, good enough for 15th overall.
Grace Galligan led the Lady Barons with an impressive time of 24:36.86 for a fourth place finish and was the second AMCC runner to cross the finish line. Bernadette Williams took eighth with a time of 25:13.67 and sophomore Angela Penza took 22ndwith a time of 26:27.32. Rose McGrath finished 33rd with a time of 27:05.64 to round out the Lady Baron runners.
