BEHREND CAPTURES SIXTH WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TITLE

Penn St. Behrend captured its sixth AMCC women's cross country championship on Saturday morning by outlasting 2014 champion Franciscan University on the Penn St. Behrend campus in Erie, PA.

Behrend junior Rachel Ramsey crossed the 6K finish line in 23:47.6 to claim the individual title. The Lions had four runners place in the top 10, including senior Katie Manno who finished in 25:15.7 and freshman Courtney Sargent who placed sixth with a time of 25:32.1.

Returning champion Franciscan University was the team runner-up, while Baron sophomore Deirdre Coyle finished second with a time of 24:17.5.

The season will continue on Saturday, November 14, at the NCAA Division III Regional hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School in Newville, PA.
