HILBERT HIRES JAMISON POWELL AS WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL COACH

Jamison Powell has been named head women's volleyball coach at Hilbert College interim athletic director Kara Rehbaum announced today.  Powell, who steps into his first head coaching position, will take charge of the Hawks' volleyball team as they prepare for their 2018 season beginning August 21.

Since 2015, Powell served as a student assistant coach under Geoff Braun, a 19-year coaching legend at SUNY Fredonia.  Powell helped with on-campus recruiting, created practice plans and worked with players one-on-one. He scouted opponents and assisted with pre-game strategies.  At the same time, Powell served as the Fredonia Men's Volleyball Club team's president/player coach managing the budget, organizing practices, scheduling tournaments and handing all travel arrangements.

Powell earned an applied music degree with a concentration in trumpet from Fredonia in 2018.
