Penn State Behrend senior setter Hannah Saunders has earned 2017 AMCC Women's Volleyball Player of the Year honors. Saunders finished second in the AMCC with 7.3 assists per set and also ranked among league leaders in attack percentage. She is a four-time all-conference selection, two-time AMCC Player of the Week honoree, ECAC athlete of the week, and earned all-tournament team honors twice this season.
Pitt-Bradford freshman outside hitter Emily Cleveland has been named AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Cleveland finished fifth in the conference with 238 total kills and 2.83 kills per set. As the team's top hitter, she recorded 10 games with a double-digit kill total, including a season-high of 19 against SUNY Poly on September 9. She was a mainstay on the court for a Panthers team that earned a share of the conference regular season title, playing in 84 of the team's total 89 sets.
Coach of the Year honors goes to Penn State Behrend head coach Phil Pisano. Pisano led the Lions to a 6-3 conference record and the No. 3 seed heading into the conference tournament where the Lions caught fire and went on to win the championship title.
