Grace Dangelo, Penn State Altoona, Women's Swimming

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona FR Grace Dangelo took AMCC Women's Swimmer of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors by the end of this week's AMCC Championships. She had a stellar week, highlighted by being involved in setting five new records for the Penn State Altoona women's swimming program. Individually, she set new team records in the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:11.19), 200 Yard I.M. (2:11.92), and 400 Yard I.M. (4:39.10), with her times in the 200 Yard Butterfly and 400 Yard I.M. also being AMCC-wide records in those events. Dangelo was also part of team record-setting times in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:43.48) and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (3:49.06).

BEST OF THE REST: Franciscan SO Colleen Farabaugh had a very strong week at the newly combined Allegheny Empire Championships, as she set three individual school records and was part of a relay team claiming another (500 free, 5:24.24 / 200 free relay, 1:46.91 / 400 IM, 4:51.48 1650 / free, 18:41.93)...PS-Behrend SO Marcella Puglia won three individual events and swam on one winning relay, as she set an AMCC open and meet record in the 1650 free, while winning the 200 and 500 freestyle events, she was also on the winning 800 freestyle relay...SUNY Delhi SO Kaitlyn Quezada broke three school records, including one of her own, as she became Delhi's first-ever AMCC individual finalist when she qualified for the 100-yard freestyle, placing eighth. Her preliminary time in the 100-yard free Saturday broke the previous record of 57.59 set by Kiyomi Shibuya in 2011. She opened the AMCC's Wednesday with a new school record of 25.79 in the 50-yard free, then beat out her own school standard in the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday at 1:14.63.
