WOMEN'S SWIMMING SET FOR FIRST AMCC-SUNYAC JOINT CHAMPIONSHIP
The AMCC women's swimming and diving teams will take to the starting blocks this week for the AMCC-SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championship Meet.
The AMCC women's swimming and diving teams will take to the starting blocks this week for the AMCC-SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. The AMCC and SUNYAC conferences are combining for their first joint championship in 2025. The event will take place at the Burt Flickinger Center on the downtown campus ofd the SUNY Erie (formerly Erie Community College) in Buffalo, NY. The events will kick off Wednesday evening and concluding Saturday, February 22.
Alfred State College senior Madison Snayczuk tops the conference in three different events, including the 50-yard freestyle (24.70), the 100-yard freestyle (54.12), and the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.41). Fellow senior Alyssa James has recorded the top time in the AMCC in the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.60), while also holding down the second spot in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.28). Junior Mallory O'Keefe sits in the second spot in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.20 and has recorded the third-best time in the conference in the 200-yard butterfly, hitting the wall in 2:28.51.
Penn State Altoona senior Hailey Toth has recorded the top time in the conference in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 35.20, along with top-five times in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.50) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.76). Seniors McKenna Holl and Madison Coleman can each be found in the top-10 in six races, including a top-two time in the 50-yard butterfly (29.03) for Holl and and in the 100-yard individual medley (1:07.33) for Coleman. Senior Sarah Petry has recorded five top-ten finshes, including a third-best time in the AMCC in the 1650-yard freestyle (19:30.35).
Penn State Behrend boasts a lot of depth, as they have multiple swimmers scattered all throughout the conference's top-10 in all categories. Freshman Kallie Smith sits in the top-10 in nine different races, including top times in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.27), 100-yard individual medley (1:03.47), and 200-yard individual medley (2:12.57). Freshman Logan Wilson sits on the top times list in eight different categories, which includes conference-best times in the 100-yard freestyle (11:18.83) and the 1650-yard freestyle (18:28.12). Junior Jadyn Danylko sits at the top of the leaderboard in the 50-yard butterfly (28.40), the 100-yard butterfly (59.77), and the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.32), while sophomore Camryn Watters tops the conference in the 100 backstroke (56.63) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.26).
Pitt-Bradford freshman Skyler Bland finds herself on the AMCC leaderboard three different times, coming in at fifth in the 400-yard individual medley (5:12.85), sixth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:22.43), and eighth in the 200 individual medley (2:26.40).
