BEHREND WOMEN CLAIM AMCC SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP
The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team claimed the team title at the Allegheny-Empire Swimming and Diving Championship Meet on Saturday at the Webster Aquatic Center.
The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team claimed the team title at the Allegheny-Empire Swimming and Diving Championship Meet on Saturday at the Webster Aquatic Center. The Lions claim their 13th AMCC team title and second in the past three years.
On the final day of competition, the Lions got a first place finish from Camryn Watters in the 200 back (2:06.63). Behrend SO Izzy Sheridan finished second overall, and first in the AMCC, in the 1650 free, finishing in 18:26.78.
Alfred State College junior Madison Snayczuk earned AMCC Women's Swimmer of the Meet honors. Snayczuk took home the gold on Saturday in the 100 free, hitting the wall in 53.70. The Pioneers also had strong finishes on the day from Mikaela Snayczuk, who led the AMCC in the 200 breast (2:30.52), and Mallory O'Keefe who led the field in the 200 fly (2:11.48).
Behrend freshman diver Lauren Stephens was tabbed AMCC Women's Diver of the Meet. Stephens led the AMCC in the diving events, finishing the day on Saturday with 328.60 in the women's 3m diving.
Behrend head coach Jennifer Wallace was named the Women's AESWD Coach of the Meet.
