AMCC WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING PREPARES FOR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The AMCC women's swimming and diving championships will be held February 10-13 at Grove City College.
The AMCC women's swimming and diving championships will be held February 10-13 at Grove City College, with the diving events leading off on Wednesday evening. Penn St. Behrend is aiming for their tenth consecutive conference title.
Penn St. Behrend sophomore Gwen Lowery paces the Lions as she ranks first in the conference in the 200 and 500 freestyle, the 100 butterfly, and the 200 and 400 individual medley. She is also second in the 200 butterfly and fourth in the 100 freestyle.
Cabrini College, 2015 AMCC runner-up, is led by junior Christina Melchiorre. Melchiorre sits at the top of the conference in the 100 freestyle and is in the top five in the 50, 200, 500, and 1000 freestyle, as well as the 200 individual medley.
Franciscan University sophomore Elizabeth McNulty is the AMCC's best in the 200 butterfly and the 100 individual medley and ranks second in the 100 butterly and the 200 individual medley.
Pitt-Bradford junior Elizabeth Prager, co-recipient of the 2015 high point honors, leads the conference in the 1650 freestyle and the 200 backstroke. She is also among the league leaders in the 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, and the 200 and 400 individual medley.
Penn St. Altoona rounds out the championship field. Freshman Eva Gerhart ranks in the conference top 10 in the 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 freestyle, as well as the 200 breaststroke and the 100 butterfly.
