The AMCC women's soccer conference schedule kicks off on Saturday, with Pitt-Bradford (5-1-1) traveling to Pitt-Greensburg (4-2-3) in this season's first AMCC Game of the Week.
The Panthers have burst onto the scene in the AMCC this season under second year head coach Lorenzo Rodriguez. After winning just one game a season ago, Pitt-Bradford now sits with an overall record of 5-1-1 as they begin their conference schedule. The Panthers boast four of the top goal and assist leaders across the AMCC. Freshman F Mya King leads the conference with a staggering 10 goals so far this season, to go along wtih an AMCC-leading eight assists. Gianna Gomez's six goals are second-best in the league, while Emily Gibbons and Avery Yard are tied with five goals a piece. In the assists column, Kimberly Goodwin ranks second in the conference with four helpers, while Payton Frank, Lauren Donnelly, and Avery Benzel all have three on the season. Freshman GK Maddison Coe leads the AMCC with a 0.75 goals against average, giving up just three goals in six games played.
Pitt-Greensburg enters the Game of the Week after losing their first game in the month of September this past Wednesday against John Carroll. Senior M/F Sarah Tonkovich leads the Bobcats, and is tied for third in the conference with five goals, while Emily Bonelli has added three on the season. Senior Logan Jennings has contributed two assists this season. Senior GK Paige John leads the AMCC with an .822 save percentage and ranks third with a 1.14 goals against average.
