Hunt (141/149), ranked fourth in Region 2 at 141 pounds of the NWCA preseason coaches rankings bumped up to the 149 pound weight class and made the 149 pound final. Hunt started the season with a 4-1 record including bonus-point victories of two first-period falls, a first-period tech fall and a second-period fall to score a team-high 21.5 team points and reach the championship bout. The Wildcat senior only loss was a 17-15 decision to the No. 5 ranked Region 1 149-pounder in Elijah Cyr of Castleton.

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend FR Abraham Keep (197) went 4-0 at 197 at the Lycoming Invitational on Sunday, as he registered two wins by fall and one by technical fall, before getting his last victory by a 5-4 decision to go undefeated in his first outing with the Lions...Alfred State SO Brent Perry (197) got a second round fall on day one to move to the quarterfinals, then got day two started with a 7-2 decision win over his Castleton opponent to advance to the semifinals. After suffering two losses, Perry found himself in the 5th place match, where he won by a medical forfeit...Pitt-Bradford JR D.J. Slovick (184) picked up a victory by fall at the season-opening Edinboro Duals on Friday. Wrestling against opponents from Division I and II teams, Slovick went 1-1, picking up the only win for the Panthers on the day. Against a wrestler from DII Seton Hill, Slovick won by pin fall at 4:59.
