Malenfant went 3-0 against some of the best wrestlers in the nation. He opened the weekend with the 15-4 major decision win over Loras' Kam Royster. The notched two first round falls, the first came against Angel Jaimes of Aurora in 1:55. Then the final one came against Elon Martin of RIT in 2:33. The Pioneers finished 18th at the NWCA National Duals.

BEST OF THE REST: Penn FR Travis Green went 4-1 at the Penn College Invite to place fifth in the 165-pound bracket and helped the Wildcats earn a fifth-place team finish. Green won all four matches via bonus points with three falls and a tech fall. Green started the day with a 30-second pin of Frawley of Lycoming. Green also won by tech fall of Baldwin of Averett and pinned Stump of Muhlenburg. Both opponents defeated Joseph McCullough of Delaware Valley, ranked seventh in the Southeast Region, earlier in the tournament.
