FIELD SET FOR WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
The AMCC Division of the Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament kicks off this Tuesday with first round matchups. Alfred State College and Pitt-Bradford each went 3-1 in conference play to be named regular season co-champions. The Pioneers won the head-to-head matchup against the Panthers to earn the #1 seed and hosting rights throughout the tournament. #1 Alfred State will host #4 La Roche University in semifinal action, while #3 Mount Aloysius College will travel to #2 Pitt-Bradford.
With a 3-1 regular season record, top-seeded Alfred State is seeking their first AMCC title in program history. Karlee Hargather leads the AMCC with 18 goals and eight assists in league play for a conference-leading 26 points. Hargather also tops the AMCC with 23 draw controls and ranks second with 21 ground balls. Fellow teammate Katerina Strong ranks second in the conference with 15 goals in AMCC play while adding four assists. Her 19 points in AMCC play are second-best behind Hargather. Goalkeeper Maeve Runyon ranks first in the AMCC with just 17 goals against in conference play and a 4.55 goals-against-average.
Also with a 3-1 record, Pitt-Bradford enters the tournament as the #2 seed. Addison Molampy leads the Panthers, and ranks T-3rd in the AMCC, with 13 goals in conference play. Molampy also registered four assists, ranking third in the AMCC with 17 points. Christina Abel has also added 10 goals and one assist, ranking sixth with 11 points against AMCC competition. Goalkeeper Lily Thuman ranks second in the conference with 39 saves in league play, carrying 57.4 save percentage.
With a 2-2 conference record, Mount Aloysius enters the tournament as the #3 seed. Cassidy Cook leads the Mounties and is tied for third with 13 goals in AMCC play. Cook also registered an assist during the regular season for 14 points against conference opponents. Shelby Smeal recorded six goals and five assists for 11 points. Goalkeeper Keira Murray has recorded 28 saves on the season with a 6.75 goal-against-average.
Rounding out the field with a 2-2 record is #4 seed La roche. The Redhawks are the defending conference champion and are seeking to defend their title. Leading the Redhawk offense is Alecia D'Urso with five goals and three assists for eight points in conference play, while Kiki Nemcek added four goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Julianna Hornikel leads the conference with a 67.2 save percentage, while ranking second with 39 saves and a 4.75 goals-against-average.
2026 AMCC Women's Lacrosse Champions apparel will be available in the AMCC Store for a limited time immeditately following the conclusion of the championship! Championship apparel will be available for approximately three weeks following each championship tournament.
