The Hilbert College athletic department is pleased to announce that Emily Pasternak will serve as the women's lacrosse program's next head coach effect October 4, 2017.
Pasternak is no stranger to Hilbert College nor the local women's lacrosse scene. She has coached at various high school levels and gained valuable administrative experiences creating, organizing and running the Not-For-Profit Breaking Borders Lacrosse organization.
The Hamburg native balanced her undergraduate academic requirements while serving as a head coach in the Empress Travel Club and in the WNY/ROC national Tournament team since 2016; as an assistant varsity coach at Williamsville North High School, and as the head junior varsity coach at Frontier High School since 2015.
Her largest and most impressive role was developing the Breaking Boarders Lacrosse organization which provides lacrosse coaches and players the opportunity to coach underprivileged youth in the United States and abroad. Pasternak assisted in all aspects of the not-for-profit dealing with fundraisers, promotions and all aspects of travel for service trips.
Pasternak gained valuable leadership experience serving as the Hilbert College ENACTUS (Entrepreneurial Action Though US) club president (2016-17). She also organized a two-day lacrosse clinic that ran during a Service Learning Abroad trip in Bani, Dominican Republic In January 2017. She currently interns with the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League.
Pasternak was a three-year starting varsity goalie at Frontier High School and was named a 1st Team All-WNY goalie in 2013 and a 1st Team Class A athlete in 2012. She began her collegiate career as a scholarship athlete at the Division I Delaware State University in 2014 before a career-ending injury forced her to walk away from the field of competition.
