MEDAILLE'S OUTLAW, PURDY RECEIVE ECAC NORTH HONORS
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced their weekly regional award winners this afternoon, and the Medaille College women's lacrosse team continued to collect honors as freshmen Claire Purdy and Thelma Outlaw each were selected to represent the Division III North Region.
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced their weekly regional award winners this afternoon, and the Medaille College women's lacrosse team continued to collect honors as freshmen Claire Purdy and Thelma Outlaw each were selected to represent the Division III North Region.
Outlaw was named the ECAC DIII North Defensive Player of the Week after earning that same distinction for both the NEAC and AMCC. Outlaw had arguably the best game of her career against Lancaster Bible, causing 11 turnovers and scooping up an astounding 13 ground balls. She also earned two draw controls and scored a goal. In total she earned 16 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers.
Purdy was named the ECAC DIII North Offensive Player of the Week just days after earning AMCC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Purdy continued her amazing play last week, leading Medaille in goals and points as the Mavs outscored their opponents 38-16. Against Franciscan Purdy scored six goals on 10 shots on goal. Against Lancaster Bible she followed that up with yet another hat trick, adding an assist as well. She also scooped up seven ground balls and grabbed 11 draw controls.
