Saint Vincent College claimed the program's first AMCC bowling championship title, defeating William Smith College 2-1 in Match 8 of the mega match tournament on Sunday morning.

The Bearcats entered the day undefeated in the tournament and needed to claim one more match to take home the conference title. William Smith came out on fire, with Michaela Morgan rolling a game-high 212 and Brooke Gervais right behind her with a 202. The Herons outscored the Bearcats 985-908 to take the early 1-0 lead after the traditional team format.
The Baker 5 Game TPF series was neck-and-neck the whole way. William Smith edged Saint Vincent 168-165 in game one, as the Bearcats came back in game two with a 221-202 victory. Game three went to William Smith 175-159, but the two teams were deadlocked at 545 after three games. William Smith took an eight point lead after game four, outscoring Saint Vincent 203-195. The Bearcats closed it out in game five with a 177-165 victory, giving Saint Vincent the 917-913 victory and forcing the two teams into the Baker Best-of-7 series.
The Bearcats closed it out quickly in the final series, taking the first four games (178-172, 203-130, 182-162, 193-139) for the 4-0 advantage, along with the AMCC title.
With the win, Saint Vincent will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. First round matchups will be announced Monday afternoon.
