#1 Saint Vincent College and #2 William Smith College will square off on Sunday at 9:30am to determine the 2025 AMCC Women's Bowling Champion. The Bearcats remain undefeated in the championship tournament, while the Herons enter the final day of competition with one loss.
Match 5: #1 Saint Vincent d. #2 William Smith
Saint Vincent defeated William Smith in Saturday morning's mega match to punch their ticket to the AMCC Championship match slated for Sunday morning. The Bearcats came out strong and won the traditional team format by a score of 992-854, as they were led by Mara Pilyih with a 245 and Abby Justice who rolled a 219. Saint Vincent then jumped out to a big lead in the Baker 5 Game TPF series, taking a 220-119 lead after game one. The Bearcats took game two 228-209 before dropping the third game 181-173. William Smith also took game four by a score of 208-189 before Saint Vincent won the final game 175-162 for the 975-879 TPF victory.
Match 6: #5 Hilbert d. #3 Pitt-Bradford
Fifth-seeded Hilbert continued to upset their way through the bracket, as the Hawks defeated three seed Pitt-Bradford on Saturday morning to keep their hopes of an AMCC title alive. Hilbert jumped out in the traditional team format, outscoring Pitt-Bradford 904-792 to take the 1-0 lead in the mega match, as Paige Angle led the Hawks with a 221. Hilbert stayed steady in the Baker 5 Game TPF series, jumping out to a 179-164 lead after game one. Pitt-Bradford took game two 162-158 before the Hawks edged the Panthers 199-194 in game three. Pitt-Bradford took game five 196-191 before Hilbert earned a 177-157 game five win to set the final at 904-873 in favor of the Hawks.
Match 7: #2 William Smith d. #5 Hilbert
Hilbert took the early lead in the mega match once again, as they came out of the gates with a 911-885 victory in the traditional team format, led by Jenna Angle's score of 206. The Herons came storming back in the Baker 5 Game TPF with a commanding victory of 974-748 to tie the mega match at one-all and force the Baker Best-of-7 tiebreaker series. The two teams battled it out, sending the series to the full seven games before determining a champion. William Smith won game one 173-143 before Hilbert took the next two games (181-167 and 199-180) to take a 2-1 lead heading into game four. William Smith tied it up at 2-all with a slim 168-163 game four victory before Hilbert took control again with a 222-215 advantage in game five to go up 3-2. The Hawks needed just one more win to advance to the championship match, but William Smith was able to pull out the final two games, edging the Hawks by scores of 181-161 and 200-157 to earn a spot in the championship round on Sunday for the second year in a row.
