AMCC BOWLERS PREPARE FOR UPCOMING CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

Mount Aloysius College (43-25, 13-1 AMCC) and Medaille (57-36, 13-1 AMCC) each went 13-1 during the AMCC round robin tournaments during the regular season. However, Mount Aloysius gained the edge over Medaille in seeding in the tiebreaker of head-to-head total pinfall of the two events, and earned the regular season title.
Two-time AMCC Bowler of the Year, junior Rayissa Amon, leads the charge for the top-seeded Mounties as she once again tops the conferene in all individual statistical categories. Amon averaged 18.5 in the Baker matches this season, while dominating with a 197 team format average. She also a rolled a single-game high of 247, against Thiel College on February 3. Mountie junior Beth Longer ranks third in the AMCC with a 17.7 Baker average.
Medaille enters the championship as the #2 seed and is led by junior Morgan Walsh and freshman Elizabeth Minnard. Walsh ranks second in the AMCC with an 18.2 Baker average and is fourth with a 178.9 team format average. Minnard ranks second in the team format with a 183.5 average. Minnard recorded single-game highs of 233 and 234, which rank her fourth and fifth in the conference, respectively.
Pitt-Bradford (28-40, 10-4) has earned the #3 seed after getting solid play from freshman Kelsey Hammons this season. Hammons has rolled her way to a 17.3 Baker average, which ties her for seventh in the conference, and she also ranks ninth with a 173.7 team format average. Senior Haley Ward's 176.4 team format average puts her seventh in the AMCC. Hammons' 237 against Penn St. Behrend on February 13 was the highest game rolled by the Panthers this season, and the third-highest in the AMCC.
Rounding out the field is #4 seed New Jersey City University (19-52, 7-7). Junior Autumn Fortunato continues to lead the way for the Gothic Knights as she ranks fourth with a 17.5 Baker average and sixth with a 177.2 team format average. Fortunato also recorded a single-game high of 232 against Medaille on February 3, which was the sixth-highest game rolled in the AMCC this season.
The AMCC Bowling Championship will be a one-day format on Saturday, with matches beginning at 9:30 a.m. and subsequent rounds beginning every 1:45 thereafter.
