MEDAILLE CLAIMS UPSET VICTORY FOR FIRST WOMEN'S BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP IN PROGRAM HISTORY
Third-seeded Medaille College was on fire all weekend, as the Mavericks ran away with their first AMCC women's bowling championship title in program history.
The Mavericks, with a 4-1 tournament record, were tied with top seed Mount Aloysius College heading into Sunday's Baker match competition. The top two teams squared off right away, with Medaille coming away victorious and never looking back. The Mavs went 5-0 on Sunday, for a 9-1 overall tournament record.
Medaille freshman Ysobel Conrad and sophomore Taylor Reese paced the Mavs on Sunday, as the pair averaged 17.4 and 17.3, respectively, in the Baker matches.
Mount Aloysius, New Jersey City University, and Pitt-Bradford were all neck and neck throughout the entire competition. The Mounties hung on to win the final two matches on Sunday to claim the runner-spot in the tournament. Third and fourth place came down to the final match of the day, with New Jersey City defeating Pitt-Bradford to give the Gothic Knights sole posession of third place.
