MOUNT ALOYSIUS LEADS COMPETITION IN OPENING DAY OF AMCC ROUND ROBIN
There was a three-way tie for first place in the team format competition, but Mount Aloysius College emerged with the tiebreak to take the early lead on day one of the AMCC November Round Robin.
There was a three-way tie for first place in the team format competition, but Mount Aloysius College emerged with the tiebreak to take the early lead on day one of the AMCC November Round Robin. Hot on the heels of the Mounties were Penn St. Altoona and Medaille College, all with 3-1 records.
All three teams shared a win and a loss head-to-head, with the Mounties defeating Medaille, Medaille defeating Penn St. Altoona, and the Lions defeating Mount Aloysius. With total pinfall in head-to-head competition tallied, MAC had 1,681 pins, PSA amassed 1,624 pins, and the Mavericks knocked down 1,504 pins.
Pitt-Bradford finished the day at 1-3 while newcomer New Jersey City University was left looking for their first AMCC win at 0-4.
Medaille sophomore Brooke Miller bowled the high game of the day with a 233, while Mount Aloysius freshman Michelle Magee rolled a 231.
Sunday's action, which begins at 9:00am, will feature a Baker format. The round robin winner will be determined by win-loss record.
The two day event is being held at Classic Lanes in Kenmore, NY, hosted by Medaille College. The second round robin event will be hosted by Penn St. Altoona at Holiday Bowl. The bowlers then return to Western New York and Classic Lanes for the championship on February 6-7.
