PITT-BRADFORD WINS INAUGURAL AMCC BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Pitt-Bradford won the AMCC women's bowing championship on Sunday,
Feb. 9 to claim the first title in conference bowling
history.
The Panthers earned the crown with a total pinfall of 6267 over two
days of matches. Penn State Altoona came in just behind
Pitt-Bradford with a total of 6167, falling short by just 100 pins.
Medaille finished in third place with 5691 pins, while Mount
Aloysius rounded out the scorecard with 4870.
Day two competition consisted of the Baker format. Each team
competed against one another in head-to-head matches in a best of
seven format.
UPB junior Sarah Foley finished her day with the competition’s highest average of 201. Foley tallied a game-high of 252 in the first game.
Medaille College was a close second with 4403 pins. The Mavericks made up some serious ground after having a sluggish start. Senior Ashley Marthage was the Mavericks’ leading bowler with a 176.5 average for the day. Penn State Altoona and Mount Aloysius College rounded out the scorecard for day one. PSA racked up a total of 3985, while the Mounties registered 3442 pins.
