Morgan Altavilla, Penn State Behrend, Women's Basketball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Behrend G Morgan Altavilla averaged 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in two AMCC games last week. She led the Lions in scoring each game, dropping 29 vs. La Roche, while also contributing eight rebounds, six assists and one steal in that game. Altavilla then recorded 26 points, another eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals in a win over Pitt-Bradford. Altavilla went 8-for-11 (72.7%) from three-point range on the week, including a career-high six triples vs. the Panthers. 

BEST OF THE REST: Mount Aloysius F Molly Kosmack scored 21 ppg on 66% shooting for the Mounties last week across two conference games, as she added 10 rebounds per game and 2.5 blocks as the Mounties went 1-1, while also recording three assists per game on only 1.5 turnovers...La Roche G Machia Hairston had yet another great week for the Redhawks, as she put together her first 20-20 double-double of the season with 21 points and 20 rebounds (12 of which were offensive), while also adding six assists, three steals and a block to her stat line to help lead La Roche past Penn State Behrend, 82-78, she then recorded 11 points, nine rebounds, three assists and another block in a 76-58 victory over Hilbert...PS-Altoona F Avana Sayles led the Lions' scoring efforts in a 2-0 week of AMCC play, as she scored a career-high 28 points while grabbing 11 rebounds at Mount Aloysius to post her fifth double-double of the season, then followed that up with 14 points to go along with six rebounds, two blocks, and a steal in a win at Alfred State...Alfred State F Sarah Somers averaged 19.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game last week while shooting 51.5 percent from the floor, as she tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, and shot 63.6 percent from the floor against Wells and  followed with a 23 and 10 game against Altoona...Carlow G Sydney Carr averaged 20 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in conference play, while also adding four assists and three blocks...Pitt-Greensburg G Melina Maietta averaged 20 points per game over two games with a high of 20 coming against Carlow, she shot over 90 percent from the free-throw line, while also securing 5.5 rebounds and dishing out 3.5 assists per game.
