TRIO OF AMCC WOMEN EARN ALL-REGION HONORS

The AMCC saw three women's basketball players earn D3hoops.com All-Region honors on Tuesday afternoon. AMCC Co-Players of the year -- La Roche University senior guard Danajah Sanders and Pitt-Greensburg senior guard Sidney McCully -- were each named to the D3hoops.com Region 7 Third Team. Additionally, Penn State Behrend women's basketball freshman Madilyn Boyer has been voted D3hoops.com 2023 All-Region 7 Rookie of the Year
Sanders had a standout senior season for the Redhawks. She ended the season recording 440 points, as well as earning her 1,000 overall collegiate career points. Sanders' highest-scoring game was at Wittenberg where she netted 29 points. Throughout the season she also played a total of 813 points on the court, hit 49 three-point shots, 156 field goals, 83 assists, 61 total rebounds, and 57 steals. During her time at La Roche Sanders has earned a total of 1,340 points, 269 rebounds, 226 assists, 198 steals, and 16 blocks in 104 games.
McCully finished the season with a team-best 18.4 points per game. She also had 7.9 rebounds per game and 4.6 assists per game. McCully led the AMCC in steals and she was fourth in assist/turnover ratio. McCully made her mark in the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball record books as she also scored her 1,000th point against Mount Aloysius in the AMCC Quarterfinals.
Boyer is earning her second Newcomer of the Year honors, garnering the same accolade in the AMCC. She also was named to the AMCC all-conference first team for leading the conference in field-goal percentage (51.2) and three-point field-goal percentage (39.8). She was third on the team and ninth in the AMCC in scoring (15.1 ppg). Boyer was second on the team with 6.8 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game. She recorded five double-doubles this season and scored a season-best 24 points at La Roche.
