AMCC SCHOOLS DONATE JERSEYS FOR LAUREN HILL FUNDRAISER

Women's basketball teams across the AMCC have been participating in a fundraiser to support Mount St. Joseph freshman basketball player Lauren Hill and pediatric cancer. Hill was diagnosed last year with an inoperable brain tumor and was told in September that she has just months to live. The NCAA recently permitted Mount St. Joseph and Hiram College to move their first game up to November 2 to give Hill the opportunity to fulfill her dream and play in a college basketball game.
The Jerseys for Lauren Auction benefits DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) research through The Cure Starts Now. Jerseys bearing Hill's #22 were sent to her to sign and auction off to benefit pediatric cancer. Each jersey is a reflection of her incredible strength, determination and drive.
The AMCC schools that participated in sending a #22 jersey to be auctioned off include Hilbert, Medaille, Mt. Aloysius, Penn St. Altoona, Penn St. Behrend, Pitt Bradford, and Pitt Greensburg.
Hill scored four points, making both the first and last baskets in the game, in her first collegiate game against Hiram College. "I never thought I would play on a college court, put my feet on the floor and feel the vibration of the crowd," Hill said after the game, which the Mount won 66-55. "This game has been amazing, and everything that happened today was amazing. This is a really good day."
