Members of the Pitt-Greensburg
women’s basketball team and coaching staff took a
time-out to serve Thanksgiving Dinner to members of the community
at the Salvation Army in Greensburg Monday evening. In all, 150
people attended the dinner. The was responsible for preparing the
dessert cart and drink station, working the line to prepare plates,
serving dinner, dessert and drinks to those in attendance, and
cleaning and wiping down tables as new guests arrived. As it has
been in the past, their most important role was spending time
welcoming and getting to know those who had arrived for dinner.
"We continue to be grateful for our partnership with the
Salvation Army," said head coach Erin Eaton. "The experiences
we have shared with their organization allow us the opportunity to
give back to the local community, but also make us all realize how
thankful we should be for all that we have."
