She finished second in home runs (3), hits (30) and batting average (.476). She ripped two grand slams this season and had 15 multiple hit games and six multiple RBI games.
Pitt-Greensburg freshman pitcher Jaimie Schleicher has been tabbed as both the AMCC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Year. A two-time AMCC Pitcher of the Week, Schleicher posted an 11-3 record with an incredible 0.98 ERA in 93.0 innings of work. She tossed 11 complete-games with three shutouts, striking out 84 batters and walking just 18. The rookie tied for the league-lead with 11 wins and led the league in ERA, was second in strikeouts (84) and strikeouts per nine innings (6.32). Schleicher was also one of the team's top hitters, posting an even .400 average at the plate, with a home run and 17 RBI. She ranks fourth in the conference in RBI, had 11 multi-hit games, as well as a team-leading eight multi-RBI performances.
Franciscan University head coach James Walker is the AMCC Coach of the Year. Walker led the Barons to an incredible turnaround season, and the first postseason berth in program history. After going winless in 2016, Walker guided his team to a 12-20 overall record, and 8-10 in conference play, for a fifth seed in the conference tournament.
