PITT-BRADFORD LANDS FOUR ON NSCA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE LIST

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association named four Pitt-Bradford softball players to the 2012-13 All-America Scholar Athletes’ list. Lauren Hogue, Olivia Taylor, Krista Jacobs and Meagan Lewis all registered a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic year to earn this recognition.  Head coach Tina Phillips currently averages three players a year to earn the award, dating back to the 2003-04 academic year, with a total of 30 players receiving the honor.
 
 The Pitt-Bradford softball program finished 65th in the nation on the NCAA Division III All-Academic Team’s list, according to the NFCA. The Panthers carried a team GPA of 3.169 to move up 21 spots from their previous ranking of 86th, according to the 2011-12 release. This marks the seventh straight year the NFCA ranked Pitt-Bradford softball among the top academic programs in the country.
