Pitt-Bradford senior softball player Sydney Mosby has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s All-Region third team, as announced Saturday.
Mosby was dominant in the circle and the batter’s box throughout her Pitt-Bradford career. She leaves UPB as the career leader in strikeouts and cracked her 100th hit earlier this season.
For the 2014 slate, Mosby batted an impressive .438 at the plate. She recorded 42 hits in 96 appearances, scored 17 runs and drove in 22. She finished the season with six doubles and one grand slam. Her .531 slugging percentage led the team throughout the year.
In the circle, she recorded a 1.84 ERA this year and compiled a 12-6 record with 18 complete games thrown. In her two appearances she made that were not starts, she was awarded the save in both.
For her career, she finishes with a .360 batting average and a 2.62 ERA. She carries a career .420 slugging percentage and a 43-36 record on the rubber while tossing an eye-popping 500.1 innings.
She received first team All-AMCC honors for her role as the designated player throughout the year and second team accolades for her time in the circle.
