FRANCISCAN'S LIAM GALLIGAN EARNS ALL-REGION HONORS
The Franiscan University and Penn St. Behrend men's cross country teams wrapped up their seasons at the 2017 Mideast Regional hosted by Dickinson University.
The Franiscan University and Penn St. Behrend men's cross country teams wrapped up their seasons at the 2017 Mideast Regional hosted by Dickinson University. The Barons took 14th overall out of 51 teams and freshman Liam Galligan earned all-region honors with a 19th-place finish, Saturday morning. The Lions weren't far behind, earning a 16th place team finish as freshman Zach Wortman was named to the All-Freshman Team after finishing 42nd.
Galligan earned his first all-region honors of his career with a time of 25:48.3 and was the fastest AMCC runner at the meet, just a week after being named the AMCC Runner of the Year.
Junior Grady Stuckman took 95th overall and was the second Baron to cross the line with his second-fastest time of the season, coming in at 27:08.7.
Wortman led the Lions with a time of 26:12.1. Seniors Dylan Buffington and Ian Griffith finished second and third for the Lions in 54th and 99th, respectively. Buffington finished in 26:32.5 and Griffith crossed the line at 27:10.1.
