BUFFINGTON FINISHES FIRST AT BEHREND INVITATIONAL
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team came in first out of nine teams this Saturday afternoon at the Behrend Invitational.
The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team came in first out of nine teams this Saturday afternoon at the Behrend Invitational.
Behrend junior Dylan Buffington led the way for the Lions, finishing first overall with a time of 27:13. Behrend had five runners finish in the top 25 which helped the Lions capture first place with a score of 48. Five points behind them was Case Western Reserve (53). Point Park came in third with 59 points and Houghton and Westminster finished fourth and fifth with team scores of 109 and 131, respectively.
Lion junior Jacob Parsons came in behind Buffington with a time of 28:01.1, good enough for second place overall. Junior Ian Griffith finished with a time of 29:12.8 which put him third for Behrend and 12th overall. Senior Jarrod Lipsey and freshman Alex Kubala rounded out the top five for behrend with time of 29:22.3 and 29:53.2, respectively. Lipsey finished 13 overall and Kubala finished 20th overall.
D'Youville junior Brian Buttaggi led the Spartans to a seventh place team finish by crossing the finish line 38th with a time of 31:40.3
Hilbert College, placing eighth as a team, was led by junior Nicholas Bentivegna who finished in 43rd place in 32:09.5.
Rounding out the AMCC teams was Medaille College who came in ninth place. The Mavericks were led by freshman Zachary Davis who crossed the finish line in 32:33.6.
