KENMORE, N.Y. – The Hilbert College cross country program volunteered at the Lou Reuter Scholarship Run Sunday, October 20, 2013.
The race is a very meaningful gathering for the family of runners in the Kenmore, NY area to honor a former teacher, coach and friend to many.
Geoff Brunger and several of his current runners assisted with the registration process and traffic control for the 4th annual mile fun run/walk. This year a new 5K course was mapped out, starting at the Ben Franklin Elementary School and finishing on the Adams Fields 400-meter track, passing by the Lou Reuter Press Box.
Coach Reuter was an extremely dedicated teacher, coach and member of the Kenmore Town of Tonawanda Board of Education; he was a mentor and served as the Western Region Coordinator for the Empire State Games for many years.
All proceeds from the run will go to the Lou Reuter Scholarship Fund providing scholarship money to one Kenmore East senior who demonstrates community service, school spirit, involvement in school activities and who finishes in the top 40% of their class with acceptance into an accredited college
