WILCZEWSKI, PALMER HEADLINE MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
Buffalo State University junior OH Gavin Wilczewski has been tabbed the AMCC Men's Volleyball Player of the Year. Wilczewski was a driving force Buffalo State this season tallying 325 kills with a .318 hitting percentage, 44 service aces, 41 assists, 180 digs, and 36 blocks across 101 sets played. He was second in the conference in kills and kills per set, and third in hitting percentage. Wilczewski had three straight matches with over 20 kills against St. John Fisher, Thiel, and Nazareth early in the season and set the program-record for kills in a season, service aces, and points. He also matched the program-record for most kills in a five-set match with 22 against St. John Fisher and again against Mount Union. Wilczewski was twice named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week and is now the second player in program history to be named the AMCC Player of the Year.
Buffalo State freshman MB Kellen Palmer earns Newcomer of the Year honors. Palmer was a staple of the Buffalo State lineup as one of four players to play in all 30 regular season games. He finished his first season in the black and orange with 141 kills, a .299 hitting percentage, and 55 total blocks. In conference play, Palmer tallied 53 kills with a .438 hitting percentage and 15 blocks. He finished sixth in the conference in blocks and is the first player in program history to earn AMCC Newcomer of the Year honors.
AMCC Coach of the Year goes to Buffalo State head coach Daniel Miranda. Miranda picks up his second straight coach of the year nod after leading the Bengals to back-to-back AMCC regular season and postseason titles.
