MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SET FOR AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

The AMCC Men's Volleyball Championship Tournament kicks off Tuesday evening with first round matchups. Hiram College, the #3 seed out of the south division, travels to Thiel College, the #2 seed from the north while the #2 seed from the south, Saint Vincent College hosts the #3 seed from the north Hilbert College. #1N Penn State Behrend and #1S Geneva College have received the tops seeds out of each division and will each receive first round byes. With a head-to-head win over Geneva, Penn State Behrend has earned the top overall seed and hosting rights to the championship tournament this coming weekend.
With a 12-1 conference record, defending AMCC Champion Penn State Behrend enters the tournament as the overall #1 seed out of the north. Senior DS Adrian Martinez leads the conference with 299 overall digs and 3.48 digs per set. Junior MH Owen Wienczkowski is also tops in the AMCC with a .342 hitting percentage and 0.92 blocks per set. Junior S Alex Jackson's 8.39 assists per set and freshman MH Lewis Rhoades' 0.89 blocks per set each rank second in the conference.
Geneva College, also with a 12-1 record in conference play, has earned the #1 seed in the south. Senior MB Byron Spear ranks second in the AMCC with 309 total kills, while ranking fifth in kills per set with 3.15. Sophomore DS Joshua Sangrey's 273 total digs are second-best in the league, with his 2.68 digs per set ranking fourth. Senior OH Jake Williams ranks second in the conference with 0.61 service aces per set, while Carter Milroy is third with 0.87 blocks per set.
Thiel College is the #2 seed from the North division, finishing the regular season with a 10-3 conference mark. Freshman L Cameron Long ranks third in the AMCC with 239 total digs and 2.81 digs per set. Sophomore MB/OH Jake Dies is fourth in the conference with 0.42 service aces per set, while freshman MB James Cromwell-Young's .273 hitting percentage also ranks fourth.
With a 8-5 record, Saint Vincent has earned the #2 seed out of the South division. Senior OH Matthew Minkin leads the Bearcat offense and tops the AMCC with 3.71 kills per set. Freshman RS/OH Shawn McSwiggen leads the conference with 0.63 service aces per set, while freshman S/RS Zach Wyant averages an AMCC-best 8.70 assists per set.
Hiram went 6-7 in conference play this year, thus earning the South division #3 seed. Junior OPP Kyle Martini ranks third in the AMCC with 3.21 kills per set, while sophomore S Matthew Albano ranks fourth with 7.62 assists per set.
Rounding out the field, also with a 6-7 AMCC record, is the #3 seed from the North, Hilbert College. Sophomore OH Brad Converse leads the Hawks with 2.69 kills per set while also adding 2.12 digs per set. Sophomore OH Alex Overhoff averages a team-leading 2.19 digs per set.
