STITT CLINCHES FIRST PLACE IN DIGS PER SET FOR SECOND YEAR
With the last update of statistics on Monday, Penn State Altoona men's volleyball junior libero Brandon Stitt has officially clinched first place among all NCAA Division III players in digs per set for the second year in a row, averaging 3.89 digs per set during the 2015 season.
With the last update of statistics on Monday, Penn State Altoona men's volleyball junior libero Brandon Stitt has officially clinched first place among all NCAA Division III players in digs per set for the second year in a row, averaging 3.89 digs per set during the 2015 season.
Last season, Stitt was the national leader in digs per set with an average of 3.34. This marks the first time in Penn State Altoona athletics history that a player in any sport has ranked first nationally in a statistical category in back-to-back seasons. Freshman teammate Matt Huey ranked 25th in kills per set with 3.25.
AMCC Player of the Year senior David Riggsby finished the season ranked 19th with 9.29 assists per set, while fellow Maverick senior David Hill was 20th with 0.45 aces per set.
Penn St. Behrend sophomore Trenton Munk finished his 2015 campaign ranked 13th nationally in two different categories, including blocks per set (1.12) and hitting percentage (0.38). Lion senior Derek Polishen's 2.63 digs per set placed him at 22nd in the country.
Hilbert senior Ryan Ratajczak wrapped up his career by finishing 14th in the country in digs per set with 2.84.
