ALTOONA'S BEARD, BENE HEADLINE MEN'S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
Penn State Altoona senior Nick Beard has been tabbed the AMCC Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Beard went 12-3 overall in No. 1 singles, including a 7-1 mark in AMCC matches. He was a two-time AMCC Player of the Week, while also becoming the Lions' all-time wins leader in singles and doubles this season.
Penn State Altoona freshman Ivan Bene has been named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Bene went 8-4 overall in singles, playing all of his matches in the No. 2 spot. He went 5-0 in the AMCC in singles and 9-3 overall in doubles, playing 11 of his 12 matches at No. 2. Bene also went 5-1 in AMCC doubles.
Coach of the Year honors goes to Penn State Altoona head coach Megan Stern. Stern led the Altoona Lions to a 6-2 conference record and a runner-up finish at the AMCC Championships.
