ALFRED STATE WOMEN, BEHREND MEN LEAD AFTER DAY ONE OF AMCC-SUNYAC CHAMPIONSHIP
After day one of the AMCC-SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships, Alfred State College leads all AMCC teams on the women's side, while Penn State Behrend sits in first on the men's side.
After day one of the AMCC-SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships, Alfred State College leads all AMCC teams on the women's side, while Penn State Behrend sits in first on the men's side.
In the women's 200-yard medley relay, Alfred State College led the way, as Alyssa James, Emma Merrick, Mallory O'Keefe, and Madison Snayczuk hit the wall first in 1:47.54. The Penn State Behrend team of Camryn Watters, Lauren True, Jadyn Danylko, and Marin O'Lone came in second with a time of 1:50.04.
On the men's side, it was Penn State Behrend coming in first place in the 200-yard medley relay, as Isaac Stoeckle, Will Perham, Tim Compton, and Anthony Tumino completed the race in 1:32.00. The Penn State Altoona men were the next AMCC team to finish, as EJ Heyman, Adam Dotts, Hunter McMullen, and Rocco Solimeo combined for a time of 1:34.73.
In the women's 3 meter diving, Alfred State sophomore Haleena Reygers led AMCC divers with a score of 280.55, while Pioneer junior Shelby Nerber was second with a 269.85.
Next up was the women's 800-yard freestyle relay, as Alfred State once again finished in first place. Madison Snaycuk, Emma Merrick, Alyssa James, and Mallory O'Keefe recorded a time of 7:58.84 to take the gold. Penn State Behrend was the next AMCC team to finish, as Kallie Smith, Samantha Sebulak, Logan Wilson, and Madelyn King finished in 8:04.12.
Rounding out day one was the men's 800-yard freestyle relay, with Penn State Behrend taking the gold once again. Tim Compton, Anthony Tumino, Nicolin Pierce, and Will Perham hit the wall in 7:00.55 to take home first place. The next AMCC team to finish was Penn State Altoona, as Caden Traggiai, Adam Dotts, Rocco Solimeo, and Nick Trabucco recorded a time of 7:12.84.
